WHAT IS AN ESTATE SALE?

  

*          An Estate Sale is an advertised sale, which is open to the public, and is held to liquidate the “Entire Contents” and “Personal Property” of someone’s home.

*          Everything in the Home is sold in an Estate Sales.  These items include (but not limited to): Furniture, Fine Art, Appliances, Jewelry, Antiques, Vintage Collectibles, Contemporary Collections, Crystal, Porcelain, Pottery, Silver-Plate and Sterling, Clothes and Accessories, Kitchenware, Tools, Garage Content, Holiday Decorations, Electronics, Cleansers, Food, Vehicles, Boats, MORE!

*          Most Estate Sales are “TAG SALES”, which means everything is TAGGED with a price

*          Estate Sales are held for various reasons:  Death of a loved one, Relocation, Downsizing, etc

*          Hiring a Professional is important for several reasons.  A Professional: 

                        Understands the Secondary Market and Can properly value and price items

                        Is not “Emotionally Attached” to the items in the Estate Sale

*          An Estate Sale Service will Charge a Commission Based on the Following:

                        Size / Quantity of the Sale

                        Quality of the Sale  - Does the Sale Contain High Ticket Items

                        Amount of time Necessary to Stage and Prepare the sale

                        Cleanliness of the Sale Items in the Home
                        Condition of the Sale Items

*          Please Keep in Mind…   An Estate Sale is NOT the sale of a couple of items in the home. For example, “I need to sell three pieces of furniture in my home” OR “I have a set of grandma’s China I need to sell”.   Although many estate sale companies may take a FEW items on Consignment, this is not the definition of an Estate Sale.
